Compliance settings
Physical address, privacy policy, data retention, and sending standards.
Settings → Compliance (admin+) is where your legal and sending-standards defaults live. Most of what's here exists because of CAN-SPAM, GDPR, or both.
Physical address
Required by both CAN-SPAM and GDPR, and appended automatically to the footer of every marketing email you send. This is the same address collected as step 2 of your quickstart checklist. Peleka requires a street, city, and country before it will save — a partial address is rejected.
Privacy & legal
- Privacy Policy URL: linked from your emails and forms.
- Default consent statement: the text shown on forms and in email footers, unless a specific form overrides it (see Building a form).
- Post-unsubscribe redirect: where someone lands after unsubscribing, if you'd rather send them somewhere of your own than Peleka's default page. See also Preference center & subscription pages.
Email sending standards
One-click unsubscribe (RFC 8058) is on by default. It adds List-Unsubscribe and List-Unsubscribe-Post headers so Gmail, Outlook, and other major clients can offer a native, no-click-through unsubscribe button. Turning it off risks throttling from those providers once you're sending at real volume (roughly 5,000+ emails/day); see Sender profiles & deliverability.
Data retention
Set how long Peleka keeps data for contacts who are unsubscribed, bounced, or complained and have gone inactive: 90 days, 180 days, 1 year, 2 years, or keep indefinitely. Once the window passes, those contacts are automatically anonymized. This is Peleka's implementation of GDPR's data-minimization principle (Article 5), not something you need to run manually.
